0 Steph and Sophie

I’ve met so many animal lovers through the decades.

All of them have this passion for animals.

They can’t bear witnessing a fur baby suffering.

Let me introduce to you a mother-and-daughter team.

I met Steph decades ago.

She is the daughter of Dr. Ed de la Cruz (a good friend and a colleague of my father),  one of the most prominent vets of the Philippines based in Cebu.

Steph didn’t follow her dad’s footsteps as a veterinarian, but she inherited his love and compassion for animals.

For several years, she has been rescuing both Cats and Dogs in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

She’s been active in several animal rescue groups,  mainly Cat Crusaders for decades.

She would bring her rescues at Makati Dog and Cat Hospital and make sure that they recover and become healthy.

All of this from her own pocket!

Tagging alongside her is her daughter Sophie.

She has been helping her mom rescue cats (and also dogs), nurturing them back to health.

Sophie plans to study Veterinary Medicine in the US soon.

She is continuing the legacy of her granddad and mom.

Her mom will also be accompanying her in the US with.

Too bad.

The Philippines will be missing their compassion and kindness real soon.

THANK YOU doctors and staff of Makati Dog and Cat Hospital for taking great care of Jaime for more than a decade now (since he was 4 months old to be exact when I first got him).

Your hospital has been his home for 7 years and during that time, you were his primary caregivers and guardians.  

He was truly happy, healthy and well-cared for during his boarding days with you. And that’s most probably why he always refuses to leave when we visit. Happy memories daw. Former home niya.

The staff here are all friendly and polite.  The facilities are complete.  There is also a nearby pet drugstore for your needs.
